Rd5 - Indiana - Partial Event
ROUND 5 — INDIANAPOLIS RACEWAY PARK"Crossroads" · July 30 – Aug 1 ·
$9 — partial Event
Some rounds end on the podium. This one ended under five hours of flood water.
Indianapolis was supposed to be a statement — the second of three brand-new tracks on the 2026 calendar, with sections freshly repaved specifically to make the drift spectacle bigger. Qualifying delivered on the promise: championship leader James Deane put his Mustang into fourth on 82.53, rookie Cole Richards top of the class on 80.66, the field dialing into a course nobody had ever competed on. The Top 32 got underway — and then the sky opened. For the first time in Formula DRIFT's 23-year history, the PRO Championship was cancelled mid-competition, track staff fighting the flooding for more than five hours before the call was made. g2
So here's the deal, straight: we captured qualifying and some of the Top 32 battles before the weekend was called — but not the full bracket, because the full bracket never ran. That's why it's $9 instead of full price.
What's rare about it cuts the other way, though. This is battle telemetry from a track that had never been competed on before, driven in conditions that ended the event — wheel-to-wheel runs on fresh asphalt that, after a debut like this, may never be driven the same way again. The first battles logged at FD Indy, and the last data recorded before the storm ended it.
In the pack: qualifying passes · the Top 32 battles we captured before cancellation · new-layout course map · logged same as every full packNot included: the rest of the bracket (the event was cancelled partway through competition)
